It is interesting to note that in the later recording from 1947 Cassado emphasises this cultural trait much less. This is in line with later recordings by other cellists of Spanish works, where the rhythms are performed almost exactly as written. Indeed, no recording after those by Cassado displays the same rhythmical nuances to any greater extent, including those by modern Catalan cellists like Claret.
