The Prelude in G-Flat Major, Op. 23 No. 10 is a 1903 composition by Sergei Rachmaninoff. It is part of Rachmaninoff's Ten Preludes, Op. 23. It is written in conventional ternary form. This is a cello transcription by A.Brandukov. Brandukov also made some arrangements of Rachmaninov's piano pieces, under the supervision of the composer. Although many of them did not survive, the arrangement presented here - a transcription for cello and piano of Rachmaninov's well-known Prelude Op. 23 No. 10 in G flat major for piano -has become a very popular item in the cello repertoire.

Ten Preludes, Op. 23, is a set of ten preludes for solo piano, composed by Sergei Rachmaninoff in 1901 and 1903. This set includes the famous Prelude in G minor. Together with the Prelude in C-sharp minor, Op. 3/2 and the 13 Preludes, Op. 32, this set is part of a full suite of 24 preludes in all the major and minor keys. |
