Mozart - Concerto G-dur KV191 for viola and piano
Mozart - Concerto G-dur KV191 for viola and piano. You can download the PDF sheet music Mozart - Concerto G-dur KV191 for viola and piano on this page. The bassoon concerto was written in 1774, only a short time before the violin concertos K207—219 and is quite similar in style and form to those works, thus lending itself naturally to adaptation for a string instrument. As the range of the bassoon in Mozart's lime was relatively small, the viola version rarely ventures out of third position, which makes this piece ideal for students who are still building or revising their technique. Of course, the musical demands of any work by Mozart are great, so the piece will still satisfy more advanced players, and also be useful in an audition context where a classical concerto is asked for. This piano reduction has three aims: to stay as close to the original orchestral score as possible, to be pianistic, and to support and enhance the particular timbre of the viola as a solo instrument.
