Yury Shchurovsky (Yury Shurovsky) was an Ukrainian composer and an outstanding music teacher. Born April 28, 1927 - Died October 13, 1996. In 1951 he graduated from the composer department of the Kiev Conservatory in the class of B.N. Lyatoshinsky. He is the author of the ballet "Song of Friendship"; vocal and symphonic works; two symphonies, symphonic poems and overtures; compositions for an orchestra of folk instruments; chamber-instrumental ensembles; choirs; romances, songs; works for children and music for movies. He also completed and orchestrated "Little Russian Fantasy" based on sketches of N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov. This brilliant etude for viola is a virtuoso composition that can be performed by any advanced performers. Written in Allegro, a virtuoso musical theme swiftly passes through the whole composition.
