Fiocco was an exceptionally versatile musician. He played the organ, the harpsichord, the violin and the bass, and was a prolific composer. Unfortunately, many of his works have gone missing. Fiocco really gained fame by publishing his Pièces de Clavecin Œuvre Premier. Fiocco was not yet 28 years old when his first (and, sadly, only) collection went to print. This was a highly exceptional situation in the eighteenth century, when most composers had to wait considerably longer to have their works printed. |
