Corelli - Violin Sonata N6 F-dur
Corelli - Violin Sonata N6 F-dur. You can download the PDF sheet music Corelli - Violin Sonata N6 F-dur on this page. Corelli's ornaments for the slow movements of his sixth violin sonata are typical of the "arbitrary embellishments" that were very popular in Italy. The purpose was to embellish and enliven the melodic line by means of passing notes and roulades. There were also "conventional ornaments", i.e. ornaments such as the trill, the mordent, the appoggiatura, grace notes, the turn and so on, which were indicated by conventional signs; these are characteristic above all of French style and are relatively uncommon in Corelli. Though Corelli is lavish in his use of ornaments, their effect is extremely tasteful. They lend suppleness and elegance to the severe contours of stile osservalo.
